Let Go And Let God – Marriage Restoration

Many times during your stand, you’ve heard the saying “let go, and let God,” but what does it mean? We have to understand that God doesn’t need our help. He knows every thought, challenge, and obstacle that stands in the way of our restoration. You’ll find yourself often hearing thoughts such as “tell them they are messing up” or “Tell them you love and miss them,” but you have to understand that the enemy knows how to get under the skin of your prodigal. If God wants you to speak, you’ll have peace, be patient, and wait on his okay. Anything done out of impulse is the enemy. God doesn’t use fear, panic, or pain to motivate us.

Example Of Letting Go and Letting God Work

Let’s look at an example:

It’s mid-afternoon, and you’ve just hunkered down to read an article titled “How To Get Your Spouse Back.” The report is worldly, not of God, and offers quick-fix promises that alleviate the reader’s emotions. “You must be harsh to your X if you want to get their attention,” the article explains. “People desire what they can’t have, and by playing hard to get, you’ll have them eating out of your hands in no time,” it states. What you don’t know is that this is a trap by the enemy, he made sure to give you the idea to read the article out of impulse at the precise time. As you’re finishing up, the enemy whispers into your spouse’s ear, “Don’t forget to text them about signing the divorce papers.” On one end, the demon prepares you to respond with coldness, and on the other end, another Spirit asks your spouse to send you a message.

Your spouse sends you a message, “Did you get that paperwork filled out as I asked?” you are prepared to win them back and reply with “Wouldn’t you like to know, now, leave me alone I’m busy.” As your prodigal finishes reading your message, a Spirit says, “you see, this is why you left! They are awful, and now their true colors are showing,” Your prodigal was thinking about how kind you’ve been and was starting to regret their choice, but not anymore. This is why we have to LET GO AND LET GOD! When we try to do things on our own, we’re subjected to allow the enemy to speak through us. The devil and his comrades wait for a vulnerable moment and will devour us if we’re not on guard. If we let go and let God, we can be sure things will go flawlessly.

What Does The Bible Say About Trusting God

Exodus 14:14
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

This verse speaks volumes to me. It says YOU ONLY HAVE TO BE SILENT. In other words, no actions, no speaking, just be still and let him fight this battle.

Deuteronomy 20:4
For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’

But Jake, can God really fight for me if I trust him? Hmm, let’s see.

Deuteronomy 3:22
You shall not fear them, for it is the Lord your God who fights for you.

Replace Pain With Progress

So, we need to let go and let God restore the marriage. It’s best if we move forward and focus on fighting for his kingdom until they return. Ask yourself this question: Have you ever thought of helping others with their stands? For me, I found this is the only way I can deal with my pain. How many times do you scroll trough through pages looking for something to make you feel better while ignoring the cries for help? In Job, we find that restoration didn’t take place until he prayed for his friends. When he prayed, he got back double of what was lost.

Job 42:10
And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

God Is Everywhere At All Times

If you understand that God is everywhere at all times, you’ll know how he’s able to bring your prodigal home. He sees all, hears all, and knows every single thought inside the mind of your prodigal. God has an unfair advantage against the enemy. He can place the right people, at the right places, at the right time. We see in Psalms how God’s omnipresence is explained.

Psalm 139:7-12
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

God Himself Will Bring Them Back To You!

Your prodigal can’t escape the love of God! The bible says that he himself with chase down his lost sheep. He will return them to their own land (YOUR HOME). Again, it says below that HE HIMSELF, which means WITHOUT YOUR HELP!!!!! I appreciate sound logic, and I can only imagine that he doesn’t require anyone else to search for the lost sheep if he is by himself. LET GO AND LET GOD!

Ezekiel 34:11-13
For thus says the Lord God: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country.

We see again in the New Testament when Jesus explains how vital lost sinners are and how he will stop at nothing to bring them back to the light.

Luke 15:7
I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

So it’s clear to me that God doesn’t need our help. He says we don’t even need to make a sound! The best thing you can do is pray, seek him daily with praise, thanksgiving, worship, and fast often. The bible says draw near to me, and I’ll draw near to you. Let’s spend time with God and focus on becoming the best Christians we can so that when they return, we’re prepared this time!
